    1. The plot is basic, nothing remarkable but fairly enjoyable and this book screams 80's horror fiction. It has the tropes of the genre that are indicative of that time period. The writing is solid. Gresham manages to establish a touching father-son relationship with 2 of the main protagonists. The Southern flavor and charm that Gresham infuses into his characters' dialogue and the novel as a whole was neat.The characters were not bad.     2. Fun, quasi-YA book that reads like a missing link to horror sci-fi films of the 80s. THE GATE meets EVILSPEAK, which isn't a bad thing at all. I was hoping for a sequel.
