    1. “Welcome to the new normal,” Vincenzo said. “The world’s changed. This is how it’s going to be for a while.”Tony Vincenzo is a television executive in NYC. He's just moved to New York and his wife and son, left behind in Los Angeles, are supposed to follow him after the school year ends.On June 7, a massive electromagnetic pulse hits Earth and suddenly everyone's way of life goes back in time a couple hundred years - no electricity, no running water, no phone service, most cars, plan [...]

    2. Good readWell I normally don't do reviews on this type of books, but this one I felt I had to. Well written, ugly in its truthfulness about how thin humanity's morality an social veneer truly is. As a parent of a special needs son I can understand and completely empathize with Tony, who isn't even the parent! Not his responsibility, but yet still finds the compassion and wherewithal to stand up and do what's right, as well as what's most difficult. And to think he'd be the last guy who you'd exp [...]

    3. A very readable book about a giant solar event that wipes out all the electricity modern cars and devices. Vincenzo is stuck in New York while his family is in California. This story is about the beginning of his trek to get to his family. He starts out on foot leaving New York as is descends into anarchy with riots and fires. The book also tells the tale of a prisoner, Roth, who becomes a main character in this story as well.

    4. This book was great. The author captured the fear and emotions the end of the modern world would cause. I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I read this in 2 days, was hard to put down. Loved it.

    5. Another masterful storyStephen Knight has a unique ability to write stories that are very realist. You as a reader can almost put yourself into the characters shoes. Great story. Kept me up all night.Looking forward to the next in the series.

    6. As alwaysAs always a good read. No zombies but plenty of bad guys. It's great to find so many talented indie authors and Mr. Knight is definitely one of these. Good characters, a plausible story line and a lot of action. Will be waiting for the next adventure

    7. Awesome It was great from beginning to end. I truly look forward to the next book to know how it ends.

    8. Great book! I have to say I got pulled into this story, getting annoyed with the kids since the didn't understand the danger they where in etc. Good read!
