    1. ▧ Actual rating: 10 stars ▧►► B.L.O.O.D.Y. H.E.L.L. ◄◄I thought that book 1 was pretty FANTASTIC but this? THIS? What. Know. Don't. Write. I. To. Can't. Don't. How. Feel.► You people should really be grateful here. Because yes, Pippa DaCosta did it again. She successfully managed to shut me up once more. Meaning you won't get one of my never-ending, silly, rambling reviews. So enjoy it while it lasts and thank Pippa DaCosta. Bye now.Haha. I'm so funny. And you're so naïve.I said t [...]

    2. "You're the fixer, but nobody is going to fix you. You must realize that?A smile skimmed my lips. "Nice. You can put that on my gravestone."Almost too amazing to be true.Sorry, but I need to jump on the next one. I guess the reviews will come out all four together after I fin- oh, who am I kidding, I know I will never be able to write something decent about this book. Really, it is already astonishing that I managed with Betrayal. The only thing I have to say (again) is: Fran you *inserts colorf [...]

    3. 19 November 2015: $0.99 on Kindle!!It's not often that a second book in a series (or serial) will get a higher grade than the first from me. This one does. And earns it. Partly because it blew through all my expectations and gave me something that I wasn't expecting - more than once.Everything I said in the first one still holds. Our protagonists are not heroes - they're not good people, and yet.I still root for them. I think that probably says more about me than it does about them. There's a HUG [...]

    4. Psychotic pirates, emotional machines, and friends who really should be enemies? It's not a good day to be Caleb Shepperd.

    5. I thought this would suffer the second book syndrome but noooooooo it's still as awesome as the first book and Caleb is still so clever as ever. I feel like I should hate him because of all the bad things he's done, but I just can't make myself feel that towards him. I WANT HIM. And #1001, I LOVE YOU STOP FEELING ANYTHING FOR CALEB AND BE MINE PLEASE I DON'T EVEN CARE THAT YOU'RE A SYNTH. BUT I WANT CALEB TOO PLEASE BE MINE YOU TWO. (I AM NOT EVEN MAKING ANY SENSE BUT CAN'T YOU SEE IT'S WHAT THI [...]

    6. In this second installment of DaCosta's Girl from Above series, she once again delivers a tale steeped in cynicism and ambiguity, where each and every character has questionable motives and even more questionable morals. Caleb and #1001 both find themselves as prisoners; he's back in Asgard, while she's back at Chitec awaiting decommissioning. Both need to escape if they are to survive. With the help of some friends, some new, some familiar, both are back-in-black on very different missions. Cal [...]

    7. After thoroughly enjoying the first book in this series I couldn't wait to dive back into this world and spend more time with Caleb and #1001. The story picks up not long after the last one ended, #1001 has been caught by Chitec and is about to be decommissioned, she believes that she murdered Caleb and although she was only carrying out orders she feels very conflicted about what happened. When a lab technician agrees to help her escape #1001 knows this is her last chance to make her father suf [...]

    8. 4.5 "I ♥ Caleb" StarsPicking up shortly after where it left off in book one, Caleb Shepperd, the roguishly handsome space pirate whose nonchalant attitude hides a cunning intelligence and guilty conscience, needs to find a way to earn quick credit after his escape from prison. Meanwhile, #1001, the Chitec synthetic with the soul of Caleb's ex-girlfriend Hayley, is doing everything she can to avoid a meltdown, both literally and figuratively. I really don't want to get more specific. I'm being [...]

    9. In Pippa DaCosta’s highly anticipated sequel - Girl From Above: Escape - it’s hard to tell who has your back from who has it long enough just to stab you in it. A lesson several key players in the story have already learned the hard way. As for the rest; they’re about to get a rude wake-up call. Fool me one, shame on me, fool me twice I deserved to get fucked over, right?Welcome to the nine systems, where the most devious, ruthless and paranoid players rule, despite Fleet’s feeble effort [...]

    10. Great again!! I'm really interested in the dynamics between the characters and what's going to happen next. Was faked out several times!!! Kudos to you Pippa DaCosta, kudos to you

    11. Captain Shepperd, you're one twisted SOB. And I love you! When I don't want to strangle you. From the first book I got the impression that Asgard (a prison in the Nine Systems) is a hellish place but having the chance to experience it made me realise that I lack imagination. I shudder at the thought of that place and (view spoiler)[ I feel really sorry for Fran, knowing that Shepperd left her there. Yeah, I know she's a traitor but still no one deserves this. (hide spoiler)] I tend to agree with [...]

    12. *grumbles* This is my second attempt at writing this review because, for some reason, didn't save it the first time around. I had Dean Winchester GIFs and everything!Anyway. You know what? I will read anything Pippa DaCosta writes. ANYTHING. I might have mentioned it before but I don't like Sci Fi for some reason (yes, I've seen Star Wars but I didn't like it—GEE, DON'T SHOOT ME!) yet I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!Following Girl From Above: Betrayal, Fran, along with the assistance of Adelina, a p [...]

    13. Sooooo, if you're looking for a hero to root for, a romance to make you swoon, or a story to make you feel warm & cozy.Move the hell along, ain't none of that around here! What do we have? Heart-in-your-throat action, rip-your-guts-out betrayal and the muddy dregs at the bottom of what passes for a human soul.A knight in shining armor, Caleb Shepard is most definitely not. He makes me squirm, sometimes in good ways, but more often in 'dude, who the fuck are you??' mode. He's an uncomfortable [...]

    14. You thought you had it all or at least some of it figured out by the end of the first book, right? Think again. Twists, turns, revelations, characters interactions, the stakes are higher than before and they have NO INTENTION of slowing the ascend. I love 1001, I love Caleb's complexity and I want to know more, read more. Really, my head just went Ka-boom. The only thing I'd really want a hint about (add I am a romance reader) is a hint about the romance and about Caleb's feelings and heart he i [...]

    15. Everything is not going well for our captain Shepperd. He’s back in Asgard, and although he survived it and managed to escape it once, he knows this time there is no one coming to save him. He doesn't expect Fran coming and saving him and he definitely doesn't know her motives for breaking him out. Back in black, on a way to earn his paycheck, he meets with crazy pirate Adelina Cande, whom he once before seduced, robed and left for dead. Let’s just say she’s not very fond of him, and she h [...]

    16. 4 1/2 stars. Treachery is the theme. Nothing is what you think it is. Everyone has an angle. There was no way to predict anything. Each of the characters were on their own at the beginning. I’m not sure how I thought this would play out, but I certainly didn’t think it would end the way it did. Unusual alliances were forged while others were destroyed. If you like stories all about love, honesty, and loyalty, well this isn’t the book for you. Love is involved in the story, but it’s not a r [...]

    17. Wow. Ms DaCosta has outdone herself. This fast paced sci-fi sequel is even better than the first book in the series, which I also loved. The reader is pushed right back into the intense futuristic world of Ms DaCosta's creation, where anything can happen and fortunes change so quickly your head will spin. I feel that the author has done some amazing world-building in this installment, making the story richer and giving the characters and their struggles depth. Even though this story isn't long, [...]

    18. What I liked:Again, well-written, action-packed, and gritty, with an extra few 1000 words taking book two into the novel-length category. A good twist that gave me the shivers and explained a lot. There's a new secondary character that has all kinds of alarm signals going off, but I could just have a suspicious mind. The plot thickens! What I didn't like:Caleb is still a jerk. Actually, I'm trying to decide if he was even more of a jerk or not, but either way I really don't want him getting a hap [...]

    19. When I finished the first book I thought I had it all figured out- at least the big mystery and the overall story arch. Turns out I was wrong. This book had some really good twists and just raised the stakes even higher, there is a new character and of course the old crew and a lot is happening. So much action. Also even though we get Calb's POV I have to admit I am still completely unsure of his agenda, his thoughts and feelings. I love 1001, I love her complexity and her simplicity all rolled [...]

    20. eARC copy from the authorWow! The Girl From Above: Escape is an explosive read. I enjoyed it even more than the first book. The second book takes us back to black and back into crazy word of space smugglers, space pirates and synthetic humans, where nobody can be trusted and everybody has secrets and hidden agendas. Caleb escapes Asgard with the help of Fran, his not to be trusted second in command, while #1001 who is at Chitech and is scheduled to be decommisioned, manages to escape with the he [...]

    21. This takes place right after the first one and it moves just as fast and you won't want to put it down! I've said before that I'm not a sci fi fan, but Pippa has written something I can enjoy. You see 1001/Hailey still trying to figure out things and having feelings that aren't part of her programming. She finds someone that might be able to help if he can figure things out. Caleb, oh Caleb! He's what I call a hot mess. I've never read about a hero so conflicted, self serving and just unlikable [...]

    22. I am enjoying this series so much. With every page that I read, I felt more drawn to these characters. 1001, may be a machine, but she still has a heart and soul. Caleb, I can only hope will do the right thing, because you have to love this guy. Can't wait to see what the black has in store for these messed up characters.

    23. This is a great example of how to do a serial--not a series--right. This is just crackerjack, action-filled fun. No spoilers, but that cliffy was killer!
