    1. I read a lot of Archies growing up. Recently, Archie Comics has started putting them out in a new format which conforms to the taller, skinnier size of graphic novel that's the norm for superhero comic books. The characters more or less look the same, and the comics are nicely colored. Character dynamics are still wooden and stereotyped. 2. This is a fine all-ages read, but the political correctness drives me crazy. I can understand how there's a fine line to be drawn in the wholesomeness of the material presented in Archie books, but I really think the stories would be more poignant if the approach were modernized and made realistic. My 11 year old daughter explained to me how she liked this book while reminding me how she loathed the wretched Archie meets Kiss book that we borrowed from the library before this one. 3. I liked reading Archie comics while growing up, so this was a trip down memory lane. Getting updates on the familiar crew of characters and learning about the "new kids" that are introduced. Seems like most of the new kids are there to add diversity - one is Native American, one Asian, one Latina, one handicapped (blind), etc - the students are given some back story and seems to get along with the old gang once a few misunderstandings are worked out. Liked the side story of "Prankenstein".

    4. This is such a great story! I had such a great time reading it and I love the joy the characters bring to the pages every time I pick up an Archie book. I think those who love Archie as much as I do should pick this one up!
